Drugs, The Good Kind

It is true. There are good drugs. And I am not talking about flavored gummies, or the kind of drugs you find in the coffee shops in Amsterdam, or even at your neighborhood pharmacy. I am talking about the really good kind. The "au naturale" ones you ingest in large amounts, or small amounts, or any kind of amount, any time of day. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some have labels you can read, and others, not so much. Recently I took some of these drugs and the high I got was over the top. Trying to describe the feeling I experienced is difficult but I will take a leap. Maybe what I am trying to describe resonates with you and if not, shut your eyes and pretend. Either way you won't look at a quart of ice cream in the same way. Guaranteed.
"Did you ever have sex with someone who if you were to stereotype them was like eating Plain Vanilla ice cream and left you thinking...well it's okay but not like the Chunky Monkey I had last week. Chunky Monkey left you wanting more. The dilemma being that you have a quart of Plain Vanilla in your freezer and since you hate to let any ice cream go to waste, you decide to go for it and finish the quart ...regardless. What you discover when you finish the last spoonful is how wrong you were. Plain Vanilla is not boring at all. You just needed to find the brand with the level of flavor and richness that pleases you."
That was my feeling. Not that Vera B. is Plain Vanilla. In fact she is like ice cream laced with confetti sprinkles. She was the drug I took and I now I want more. Vera B. is an artist I met after joining the local art guild. She is a mixed media paper artist who is experimenting with making paper from different materials and I am the fledging understudy who happens to be the grateful recipient of her paper scraps. For me, I felt like I hit pay dirt. Big time. Being in her studio I realized what I was seeing was the tip of the iceberg. So much to explore, experience, and learn from this woman.
Another favorite drug of choice is Brenda K. Do you know what it is like when one plant addict asks another plant addict if they want to stop at a plant nursery. Hell yes. Did I say it fast enough? And to round out my pill box is Joyce R. Joyce is an archivist extraordinaire. Her domain is the Cumberland County Archives and Heritage Center where she rules the roost and is all knowing. Spending a few hours with Joyce had me at hello. And yes, I am drinking her kool-aid and have an insatiable thirst for more. She is a true gem hidden away behind four walls that sport a brick exterior.
If you haven't been taking any good drugs lately, or need to refill your pill box, or maybe get a new prescription...DO IT. And I am not the only one saying this. Research suggests that good friends may actually be really good medicine. The best kind. https://www.washingtonpost.com/national/research-suggests-that-good-friends-may-actually-be-great-medicine/2011/03/07/ABMbvwV_story.html
